Manchester City interest and imminent England call-up give Everton uphill task trying to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Seamus Coleman replacement
Back in early November, Everton’s interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Since breaking into the Crystal Palace side, Wan-Bissaka has been a revelation for the Eagles, turning in some strong performances at right-back.
Everton need a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman, whose performances have dipped as he enters his 30s.
Wan-Bissaka was seen as the ideal candidate. The England under-21 starlet has proven himself in the Premier League and he has shown he can do the attacking and defensive duties required of a modern day full-back.
In 24 games, the 21-year-old has made 91 tackles, 57 interceptions, 77 clearances and 46 blocks (), making him Crystal Palace’s top performing defender by some distance.
Wan-Bissaka also has the second most successful dribbles in the Crystal Palace side with 40 (less than Wilfried Zaha and ahead of Andros Townsend).

Is it therefore unsurprising that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is eyeing a swoop for the youngster, .
Crystal Palace rate him at £30m and he could be Kyle Walker’s successor at The Etihad.
And Guardiola is not the only manager watching Wan-Bissaka; England boss Gareth Southgate has checked up on the young right-back three times recently, .
Southgate is set to hand Wan-Bissaka his first call-up to the senior squad as Walker might be replaced for both club and country.
But Man City entering the transfer race for Wan-Bissaka, coupled with an imminent England call-up, surely makes this harder for Everton.
The Toffees might end up missing out on Wan-Bissaka, who looks set for a big summer move.
