Manchester City fans want club to sign Gladbach player, after Tuesday display
It was about as strenuous as a friendly match on Tuesday night as an in-form Manchester City breezed past a struggling Gladbach with a 2-0 second-leg win – but one player has left a lasting impressing on City fans.
Having already secured a 2-0 lead on aggregate from the first leg, thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus – City were tasked with at least maintaining that result in Hungary. Instead, they doubled their overall score.
Kevin De Bruyne reminded onlookers what he is capable of with a beautiful first-time strike from 20 yards that flew into the roof of the net. It was 2-0 soon after, as a perfectly-weighted pass found Ilkay Gundogan, who finished well.
A commanding victory for City against a side in Gladbach that are seriously struggling for form, but also boasting a manager that has already stated he will be leaving at the end of the season. It was an easy win for City.

However, one Gladbach player has left a lasting impression – and it is one that has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks and months. Florian Neuhaus was tasked with a near-impossible job.
That was, to cope with the on-rushing Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan and Phil Foden – something which even the best central midfielders could only dream of doing. But the Germany international did himself no harm on the big stage.
towards the end of February that Neuhaus, who turned 24 during Man City’s second leg victory, is a target for both Pep Guardiola’s side, and Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is renowned for his Bundesliga knowledge.
Neuhaus only joined Gladbach in 2017 but has since passed 100 appearances in all competitions already. He is in the form of his life, having a hand in 13 goals during his 36 league and cup appearances this season.

Such form has seen him earn three Germany caps of late, and he is now a strong contender to be a part of Germany’s side that compete at Euro 2021 in the summer. The report claims he is rated at £35million by Gladbach.
Liverpool are in need of a midfielder with Gini Wijnaldum looking more than likely to depart in the summer. The Netherlands international is out of contract and continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.
City, meanwhile, could do with another body in midfield. They have been linked with numerous names – Manuel Locatelli of late – and could also lose veteran Fernandinho this summer. Like Wijnaldum, his contract is due to end.
Having watched Neuhaus do his utmost to prevent an onslaught at the Puskas arena, Man City fans were impressed. Taking to social media after the match, many urged their club to consider a move to sign the Gladbach star soon.
