Manchester City fans react as Celtic reportedly eye a second Etihad defender
Celtic are reportedly looking at a second Manchester City defender this summer, after initially being linked with Ko Itakura. Ange Postecoglou desperately needs defensive additions and City right-back Yan Couto is now on his shortlist. Manchester City fans think Couto should join Celtic.
Couto, 19, spent last season on loan at Spanish second-tier side Girona, where he clocked up 30 appearances in all competitions. He certainly left a lasting impression, having a hand in seven goals and now, Couto needs a new move. Hardly going to get a look in at City, Celtic are keen.
Celtic are hopeful of bringing Couto to Parkhead this summer – but face competition from Portuguese clubs. The Hoops desperately need a right-back, having sold Jeremie Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen in January. Hatem Abd Elhamed returned to Israel.

Jonjoe Kenny, who was on loan from Everton, was indifferent during his loan spell as a replacement for Frimpong – and has not signed permanently. So, Celtic need a right-back and Couto has been identified. The Hoops are hoping to land the Brazil Under-20 ace on loan until the end of the season.
