Manchester City and Aston Villa now in talks with wonderkid compared to Jack Grealish after he rejects new deal
TBR Football understand Manchester City and Aston Villa are in talks with Jesse Derry after he decided not to sign a new contract at Crystal Palace.
The south Londoners have often produced top talents, developing the likes of Victor Moses, Wilfried Zaha, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Nathaniel Clyne over the years.
However, Crystal Palace are now struggling to keep another homegrown prospect at Selhurst Park.
Derry – son of Shaun Derry, who made 222 appearances for the Eagles – is refusing to sign a professional contract, and sources have now shared an update on the situation with TBR Football.
Manchester City and Aston Villa approach Jesse Derry
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – has now been told that Manchester City and Aston Villa have held talks with the England U18 international.
We understand Everton have also spoken to Derry’s representatives as Premier League sides attempt to take advantage of the situation at Crystal Palace.
Sources add that the Eagles are still trying to convince the 17-year-old, but know there is not much else they can do at this point, after already making it clear they see him as a future first-team player.

Derry – who has drawn comparisons to Jack Grealish, a target for Tottenham, due to his hairstyle and low socks – is also attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
TBR Football understand Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, PSG, Monaco, Porto, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have all made contact – while Celtic and Rangers have been in touch too.
TBR Football are also aware that Crystal Palace could lose Tyrick Mitchell too – with Tottenham stepping up interest.

The teenager boasts tremendous versatility, playing on the left and right wing this season, as well as in a central attacking midfield role and even as a striker.
Derry primarily operates on the left, where he has impressed with nine goals and one assist in just eight U18 Premier League appearances so far this season.
