Manager Tottenham wanted to replace Harry Redknapp in 2011 now about to become available amid Ange Postecoglou doubts

Whether Tottenham win the UEFA Europa League this season or not, Ange Postecoglou could be dismissed.

Daniel Levy will decide whether to keep Postecoglou based on other factors – according to Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail – with Spurs keen not to repeat the mistake Manchester United made after Erik ten Hag won the FA Cup and saved his job last season.

Tottenham currently sit 15th in the Premier League – which is unacceptable and will surely be scrutinised by those in the boardroom, even if UEFA Europa League glory actually happens.

Amid doubts over Ange Postecoglou in north London, a manager Levy wanted as a replacement for Harry Redknapp is now about to become available.

Carlo Ancelotti set to leave Real Madrid imminently

are now reporting that Carlo Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid after the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on April 26th.

The 65-year-old is not expected to survive being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the quarter-final stage by Arsenal, a somewhat unsurprising development given the immensely high standards at Real Madrid.

It comes after the claimed back in 2011 that Levy had made Ancelotti his No.1 choice to replace Redknapp as the Londoner looked set to be offered the England job.

Roy Hodgson was ultimately appointed, and Redknapp was sacked by Spurs in June 2012 despite finishing fourth in the 2011/12 Premier League campaign.

Tottenham will have to be quick

If Levy is hoping to finally bring Ancelotti to N17 after all these years, he will have to move quickly.

Sky Sports add that Brazil are keen to hire the Italian, and could even have him in place before the end of the current campaign.

The South Americans have been without a manager since Dorival Junior was sacked in March, following a 4-1 defeat against Argentina.

If Ancelotti does not emerge as a realistic option for Spurs, Tottenham have approached Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace in their search for a new manager, and could join amid a contract standoff in SE25.

The likes of Thomas Frank, Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva have also been mentioned as potential replacements for Postecoglou.
