Manager is urging his club not to sell £30m midfielder after he’s linked with Arsenal
It’s become very clear that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would really like to add another midfielder to his squad in the near future.
Declan Rice’s arrival has been an incredibly successful move, one that should inspire the lifting of trophies at the club.

And whilst Rice can definitely operate well in a midfield that includes Thomas Partey, it seems the Ghanaian could be on his way to an exit.
Despite his talent, Partey has often struggled with injury and the 30-year-old’s contract is now winding down.
So whilst he return to fitness could prove a big boost for Arteta this month, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he left the club beyond the summer.
That being said, Arsenal have been linked with a host of number sixes, including Douglas Luiz and Martin Zubimendi.
However, it’s a slightly advanced profile that Arsenal are said to be keeping tabs on during the final few days of the window.
Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been linked with Arsenal among others, leading to his current manager making his position on a move very clear.
Leicester manager tells club not to sell midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall amid Arsenal links
It remains a slight possibility that Dewsbury-Hall leaves the club in the coming days, and journalist Sky Sports has now provided the latest.
Dorsett explained that Leicester manager Enzo Maresca has had chats behind the scenes regarding his star midfielder, even if a big bid from a club like Arsenal could prove tempting.

Dorsett said: “It’s really interesting to see what happens.
“No disrespect for Brentford or Brighton but if one of the big guns from the Premier League or Europe came in with a bid for Dewsbury-Hall then we may see a flurry of activity and a market because Leicester are sailing a little bit close to the wind with the profit and sustainability rules, they can’t really strengthen without losing one or two players.
“So to that end they are interested in deals for a number of players. The thing is Dewsbury-Hall is certainly not one they want to sell and they won’t entertain offers for him unless it’s a very big offer.
“The truth is no they can’t [afford to lose him right now] and Enzo Maresca has made that very clear to his bosses as far as I understand behind the scenes.
“He has scored nine goals and has nine assists in the Championship this season.”
One for the summer
Of course, Dewsbury Hall would look like a smart deal for Arsenal, but perhaps one that is best to wait until the summer for all parties.
Pundit Ally McCoist thought Leicester would be absolutely crazy to sell in January.
And thankfully for Maresca and Leicester fans, it doesn’t like the midfielder is going anywhere this month, judging by this update.
