Manager is now afraid Arsenal will come and sign his £86m striker in January, he’s losing sleep
Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim is losing sleep over the prospect of Arsenal signing Viktor Gyokeres in January.
The Gunners are expected to be active in the winter window. They could do with one or two new players to give them the push they need to go all the way in the Premier League title race. Gyokeres has been heavily linked.

Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim is scared Arsenal will sign Viktor Gyokeres
Viktor Gyokeres has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season, and Arsenal like him.
The Gunners have reportedly been monitoring the Swede’s situation and have even sent scouts to watch him. Ruben Amorim admitted himself that the rumours have distracted the 25-year-old.
Fabrizio Romano delivered some good news to Sporting Lisbon fans this week by claiming that Gyokeres has decided to stay at the club beyond the end of the January transfer window.
However, Portuguese outlet claim today that Arsenal and Chelsea’s interest in Gyokeres is giving Amorim sleepless nights.
The Sporting boss is reportedly afraid that the Gunners could sign the Swede in the summer even though they are protected by an £86.5 million release clause in his contract.
The outlet further states that neither Arsenal nor Chelsea are scared about the above clause, which is why Amorim is fearing the worst.

Gyokeres is unlikely to join Arsenal in January
Sporting Lisbon only signed Viktor Gyokeres last summer.
The Swede has a contract that does not expire until 2028, and the huge release clause provides added protection to the Leões if a club like Arsenal express their desire to sign him.
Sporting have every right to demand the entire release clause, and they are very likely to do that. That makes this a very hard deal to pull off, especially as that fee will have to be paid upfront.
It will be interesting to see what will happen in January, but we just can’t see Arsenal signing Gyokeres in next month’s transfer window.
