Manager calls £85m Arsenal target ‘really special’ after he scores a hat-trick last night
It remains to be seen if Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will target a ‘superstar’ striker this summer when the club could spend big.
Arteta was content for Arsenal to lay dormant in January, protecting the club’s FFP balance mid-season.

After all, it seems as if neither the Spaniard nor Edu Gaspar are keen to conduct business in the middle of the season anyway.
But as we saw last summer with the signings of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, Arsenal will be efficient once the season ends.
That being said, it’s thought that this could be the summer when Arsenal try and recruit a striker who can add goals on a consistent basis.
Gabriel Jesus (four) and Eddie Nketiah (five) are not contributing enough league goals between them, even if the former has been unfortunate with injury.
And although there will be very little clamour for the Brazilian to leave, perhaps the writing is on the wall for Nketiah.
That being said, Vikor Gyokeres is a striker thought to be of interest to Arsenal and Mikel Arteta this summer, and he simply can’t stop scoring.
Sporting striker Vikor Gyokeres scores hat-trick after summer links to Arsenal
Sporting CP won 6-1 against Boavista FC last night, securing their position at the top of the league, and Gyokeres helped himself to a few more goals.
Gyokeres now has an incredible 36 goals and 14 assists in 39 games in all competitions this season.

And although doubts remain over how his ability will translate to the Premier League, surely those numbers can’t be ignored?
Gyokeres’ manager, Ruben Amorim, who is linked with the Liverpool job this summer, commented on his striker’s ability after the game.
Via journalist on X, Amorim said: “He’s improving every day, he has really special skills.”
The £85m-man is arguably the hottest striker in Europe right now, even if he isn’t playing in strongest of all of those divisions.
That being said, Arsenal fans will now know not to underestimate the strength of Portuguese opposition following their tie with FC Porto.
Viktor Gyokeres is definitely a striker Arsenal should be exploring this summer, and fans should trust Arteta’s judgement if any move eventually comes to fruition.
That all being said, it seems Arsenal may already been planning a significant departure to make way for their spending.
