Man Utd legend urges Aston Villa player to start over £90m England star for Euro 2024 final
Manchester United legend Gordon Hill has urged one Aston Villa player to be named in England’s starting XI against Spain in the Euro 2024 final over a £90m star.
The Three Lions are one win away from history as Gareth Southgate prepares to lead his England side out in Berlin later today for his second Euros fin🧸al, thr𒅌ee years on from losing at Wembley Stadium to Italy on penalties.
England have won ugly on their way to the final, where a last-minute Ollie Watkins winner agai🐭n🦄st the Netherlands booked their ticket to today’s historic tie against Spain, who this🎃 summer have been the in-form side at the Euros.
And United legend Hill now believes the Villa striker shꦜould start over one England star tonigh🍸t.

Southgate urged to drop Harry Kane for Watkins for England vs Spain
Taking to Twitter, the former England international and Red Devils icon suggested that Watkins should start for England tonight over Harry Kane, with the Three ▨Lions captain failing to impress despite scoring three goals in the tournament.
Hill wrote: “Harry you have been a great striker a🎃nd leader for England, but 🐼my pick against Spain would be two strikers who have shown they want it too, Palmer and Watkins. Give them the ball and tell them to go out and attack. Give them the service.”
With Watkins the hero for England on Wednesday against the Netherlands having scored one of the most impor🅺tant goals in his entire career, it𒐪’s no wonder why there’s now a late-tournament clamour for the Villa striker to start tonight.
However, given the magnitude of today’s game against Spain, Southgate will feel little pressure in dropping his £90m captain for Watkins, even after the Villa st🐭riker’s goal this week in Dortmund.

Watkins can be a threat for England from the bench
Watkins showed in just a few minutes against the Netherlands why he is such a weapon for England at thꩵis Euros, w📖ith the striker scoring one of the best goals at the tournament at the most crucial time of the match for the Three Lions.
And against Spain tonight, Watkins can again be a massive threat for England’s opponents if the game remains in the balance laܫte on and a moment is there for Southgate’s side to secure their biggest win in nearly 60 years.
Indeed, Watkins is enjoying the season of his life, and there could still be s🔯ome magic left in the Villa striker to help England to a famous win in Berlin against arguably the most in-form side in international football this summer.
