Man United have identified the perfect new left wing-back to suit Ruben Amorim’s system
So far during his three games in charge of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim has experimented with both Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia as his left wing-back.
Amorim has already been chopping and changing his Man United side in order to assess his options moving forward, and he’s likely been pleꦐased with a lot of what he’s been seein⛎g.
Playing out of position, Amad Diallo has been brilliant for United – his pressing against Everton was nothing short o൲🍒f exceptional.
United will have bigger tests to come, starting with a trip to Arsenal on Wednesday, but there’s certainly a lot of reason fo🎉r optimism in this new era under Amorim.
Man United see RB Leipzig’s David Raum as perfect Ruben Amorim fit
Of course, the timing of Amorim’s appo♓intment could be very clever in terms of allowing time to assess and prepare the club for the 2025 summer transfer window, even if January may come a bit soon.
But acco💝rding to Florian Plettenberg, United could revisit🐭 one of their existing targets for Amorim’s project, David Raum.

The 26-year-old RB Leipzig left-back has predominantly made a name for himself dur꧂ing his 26 caps for🐷 Germany, a defender who loves to get forward.
And according to Plettenberg, who p📖osted his comments on X, Raum is firmly on United’s radar to become💝 Amorim’s new left-sided man.
He shared: “David Raum is another player Manc𒁏hester United have on their radar and on the shortlist for♛ the vacant left-back position.
“Already last summer, there were concrete discussions, in🎉cluding a꧒bout figures, between MUFC and Raum.
“As a ♈left wing-back, the 26 y/o is considered to be a very good fit for Ruben Amorim’s new system. His development is being closely monitored. His agency, ROOF, has excellent connections to the Premier League.”
David Raum used to be a striker until he was needed elsewhere
If United fans needed any convincing over Raum’s attacking credentials on t൲he left, t🐈hey needn’t be worried.
Speaking back in 2022, the Germany left-back revealed that he used to play as a striker or a right-winger until he wa꧃s 19, admitting his ‘anger’ when he was asked to play in defen🔜ce.
Sharing the𓆏 story with , he said: “I played as a centre-forward or on the right win♋g until I was 19.
“Then they put me in the lef🐎t-back poꦆsition because I was the only one with a good left foot.
“No striker wants to play in𓆏 defense. But after my anger, I began to see hಌow good it was and that I had the qualities to play there.”
