Man United fans had a lot to say about Manuel Ugarte after their 2-1 derby day win against Man City
After his big-money in the summer, Manuel Ugarte is now beginning to find his feet at Manchester United, helped by the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
Ugarte must have been delighted when Amorim was appointed as new United boss, someone he enjoyed success working with at 🅠Sporting CP.
With Erik t🐽en Hag at the helm, Ugarte didn’t look befitting of his transfer fee and it didn’t ev🎃en necessarily seem as if the Dutchman knew the best plan for the midfielder.
That﷽ began to change under Ruud van Nistelrooy, who also deserves credit for helping Ugarte find a regular spot in the side.
Now, it would be a surprise if the Uruguayan wasn’t a🌸 fixture of Amorim’s 3-4-3 moving forward.
Man United fans divided on Manuel Ugarte’s display in Manchester derby
That bei✨ng said, Ugartꦜe split opinion on X during United’s late 2-1 victory over City in the derby.
Some watched the😼 midfielder’s performance and noted ho✱w he pocketed Kevin De Bruyne, whereas others were frustrated with his reluctance to pass forward.

Starting with the positive, one fan wrote: “United had KDB in jail, we won’t let that go unnot🧸iced.”
Another sh♔ared: “Ugarte, just like against Forest🌟, among United’s best players this game.”
On the other side of the coin,🍷 one fan watching on was unsure whether the United players really trusted the former Paris Saint-Germain player with the ball.
One wrote: “I’m not sur✱e Man Un𝔉ited’s players really trust Ugarte on the ball…
“Look how often he’s in a good position, and is ignored by his tea🌄mmates who choose to pass laterally instead.
“Huge issue for their ball progression.”
Another protested: “Ugarte is a hard watch﷽. Like watching a more aggressive, technically inferior Lee C🏅attermole.”
Ugarte only deserves positive comments after derby day brilliance
In all honesty, it is hard to understand how Ugarte’s performanꩲce against Cit🎐y could be seen in a negative light.
The midfielder was p💦laying delicate passes around corners, intricate balls through the middle and also anticipating some brilliant interceptions.
A mꦿemorable derby performance, and probably the only player who got anywhere near Amad Diallo in terms of quality.
Mason Mount was so unfortunate to get injured again – a ꦛtransfer that simply hasn’t worked out at Old Trafford thus far.
But with Ugarte th♓riving in the middle, it frees up Bruno Fernandes to play as a 10, who certainly has the quality.
