Man United contact Arsenal chiefs as £136m FFP masterplan confirmed
Man United have reached out to Arsenal representatives regarding their FFP-busting plan.
In the Premier League, Financial Fair Play (now called Profit and Sustainability Rules) limits clubs to losing a maximum of £105m over a rolling three-year period.
On paper, both Man United and Arsenal have exceeded this limit – but deductible costs such as infrastructure and youth development see them fall within the threshold.

However, United’s margin for error when it comes to PSR is far smaller than Arsenal’s.
In the views of many analysts, this is a legacy of poor cost control, both in terms of the wage and transfer budget, as well as a lack of investment in long-term infrastructure.
Under new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United are trying to change this.
And top of the agenda is the redevelopment – or perhaps even move away from – Old Trafford.

Man United contact Stan Kroenke associates
It was widely reported earlier this week that United favour the construction of a completely new stadium, potentially taking capacity up to 100,000.
That would make United’s new home comfortable the biggest in England, and almost twice as big as Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
Interestingly, in the same week, Arsenal co-chair Josh Kroenke revealed that his club are taking the first steps to exploring the redevelopment of the Emirates.
However, when looking for inspiration for their new stadium, United were focused more on the United States than North London.
According to , United have contacted the team behind the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles as they look to establish what form their new home ground might take.
The SoFi Stadium is the home of Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke’s NFL franchise, the LA Rams.
And the two sides also met at the world-class stadium last Sunday, when Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners against United.
TBR Analysis: How much can Man United earn from a new stadium?
United could very easily earn £200m per year in matchday income from a 100,000-seater stadium.
That would be more than twice as much as Arsenal.

And in fact, the true amount is likely to be far higher.
They earned £136m through the turnstiles in the last financial year, and a greater emphasis on hospitality and other commercial opportunities would see that figure rise proportionately far faster.
