Man United consider fresh approach for ‘world class’ player Liverpool want to sign

Manchester United are now weighing up a fresh approach to sign a Liverpool target.

Liverpool are yet to make a signing this summer transfer window but with the new Premier League season fast approaching, business is expected to ramp up.

Arne Slot is thought to be in the market for a new central defender, following Joel Matip’s departure, a forward and a midfielder.

With that said, one of their midfield targets is now being subjected to concrete interest from rivals Manchester United.

According to Italian outlet , via , Manchester United are considering a fresh approach for Adrien Rabiot, who is considered ‘world class’ per .

The French midfielder is a free agent upon the expiry of his Juventus contract and has been the subject of interest across many of Europe’s leading clubs.

Liverpool have already made contact to sign the 29-year-old, however, it’s understood he prefers a move to Old Trafford.

Rabiot is a long-term target of United’s and now it appears new talks are scheduled to take place in the coming days.

Liverpool should move on

With the season just 16 days away, Liverpool simply cannot afford to dwell on Rabiot and must now move on to other midfield targets.

Atalanta’s Ederson is believed to be high up on their shortlist and they’ve already held several meetings with the Brazilian.

The 25-year-old is thought to have a £42m asking price which the Italian club are planning to stick to.

Adam Wharton is another option for The Reds, though, he’s expected to cost substantially more than Ederson, with a £60m price tag mooted.
