Man City transfer: Romano confirms club ‘have no intention’ of paying £43m asking price for talent
Man City won’t match Sporting Lisbon’s €50m (£43m) asking price for left-back Nuno Mendes.
, City ‘have no intention’ of meeting Sporting’s valuation for the teenage defender.
Mendes is regarded as one of Portugal’s most exciting talents. However, Pep Guardiola’s side will have to pay a premium for the youngster.

City are keen on signing a left-back this summer. And Mendes was reportedly an option before the start of Euro 2020.
Indeed, the Premier League champions have now seemingly re-entered the race for the youngster. Manchester United have also been listed in the past as a side with an interest in Mendes
Although Man City are eager to sign a left-sided fullback this summer, priorities elsewhere could mean that they miss out on Mendes.

As reported by the Sun, City are looking to offload fringe players to recoup funds for a move for Harry Kane.
The striker is the club’s number one target this window. And Kane appears to be Guardiola’s first choice as a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Mendes would be a solid addition to City this summer and would be good competition for the likes of Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko for the left-back position.
But with the club unwilling to meet Sporting’s asking price, City could back away from a move for Mendes.
