Man City scouts fly to watch ‘incredible’ playmaker as he scores the winner in Champions League clash
- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
After losing 4-1 to Sporting CP on Tuesday evening, Manchester City slumped to three straight defeats in all competitions – something that’s usually unheard of under Pep Guardiola.
Man City🌌 are only two points behind Liverpool in the Premier League (and five ahead of Arsenal) – there’s no real need for a post-mortem just yet, but Guardiola will demand an improvement.
🌄That being said, City were fairly quiet in the transfer market this summer given that Julian Alvarez left for big money.
👍And perhaps that will lead to bigger spending next summer, whether Guardiola is in charge or not.
With that in mind, TBR Football understands that City continued their surveillance of Jamal Musiala in the Champions League this week.
Top European clubs circling around Man City target Jamal Musiala
💜City had scouts in place to watch Musiala net Bayern Munich’s winner in their 1-0 win against Benfica on Wednesday evening.
ꩵ21-year-old Musiala took his tally to eight goals for the season in just 13 games, an impressive record considering his role as a number 10.

ꦜThat being said, Bayern are working hard to try and persuade Musiala to sign a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2026.
Vincent Kompany’s side are confident of finding an agreement as they have made it clear to Musiala that he will be a centrepiece of their project going forward, plans that also include Florian Wirtz.
🌞Bayern, though, are fully aware of interest from City in both Musiala and Bayer Leverkusen star Wirtz.
ꦑTBR can also confirm that Real Madrid are also keeping close tabs on the two young German stars, who are already among the best players in Europe.
🔯On their part, Bayern hope to have Musiala’s new deal tied down by ealy in the New Year, allowing them to proceed with their interest in Wirtz.
Harry Kane praises Jamal Musiala after Bayern Munich winner
💦As mentioned, Musiala netted the vital goal in Bayern’s 1-0 win against Benfica.
And when speaking after the game, England captain Harry Kane🍷 praised the midfielder for a new area of his game that he’s been unlocking.
ღMusiala scored a poachers header to give Bayern the win, something he’s seemingly not done too often in his career to date.
ওKane said: “He’s getting in the right areas and that’s what happens – the ball kind of falls your way.
💧“But it’s all the hard work that he does and you can work on it, work on being in those situations in the six-yard box, getting those goals which make a difference in these types of games.
🤡“So really pleased for him and hopefully he can keep it up.”
