Man City ask about signing Champions League midfielder who Pep Guardiola previously sold for just £15m

TBR Football understands that during Manchester City’s recent talks with Juventus, Pep Guradiola’s team asked about their former midfielder Douglas Luiz.

𒈔Guardiola was in charge of City when they decided to sell the 26-year-old to Aston Villa in a deal back in 2019.

Following his impressive spell in the Midlands, the Brazilian was sold to Juventus, however, his time in Turin has not gone to plan and as TBR Football revealed Juventus are open to letting Luiz leave on loan this month.

City have made it known that they are interested in bringing him back to the Etihad this month as Guardiola looks to bolster his midfield options.

Manchester City ask about signing Douglas Luiz

Manchester City have asked about signing Douglas Luiz following talks with Juventus, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

🔯Juve and City have been discussing deals for Andrea Cambiasoꦜ and Nicolo Savona this month and the Brazilian’s name cropped up during the talks.

TBR Footballജ reported earlier this month that City were one of a host of clubs who were showing an interest in Luiz – after it became known that Juventus were ready to listen to offers for the Brazilian.

🌟Juve made a big push for Luiz in the summer, but he has failed to become a regular starter under new boss Thiago Motta with Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram his preferred options to this point.

Aston Villa🍷, Arsenal and Tottenham were amongst the clubs who were made aware of Luiz’s availability but now City have held talks and are open to the idea of the player returning to the Etihad this month.

𝄹The Italian giants are willing to allow Luiz to leave on loan, but they want some sort of obligation as part of any deal for the former Villa player.

What is Douglas Luiz’s stance over Man City return?

TBR Football🦋 has been told that Luiz is willing to fight for his place in Turin, but it’s likely that a move to the Premier League champions may be too good for him to turn down.

🥃Luiz will need to assess how long Rodri will be sidelined because he will not want to run the risk of losing his place as soon as the Spaniard returns.

🎃The Juve player will be eager to get his next move spot on with the World Cup taking place next year and competition for places in the Brazil squad being fierce.
