‘Make his mark’: Leeds told they have an 18-year-old in their ranks with truly ‘huge potential’
Dean Jones has described Leeds United summer signing Wilfried Gnonto as a player with “huge potential”.
The journalist, writing on , says the 18-year-old will “slowly start to make his mark” at Elland Road.
Gnonto is already a regular for the Italy national team, having won six caps for the Azzurri.

The Whites talent featured against both England and Hungary in their recent Nations League outings.
Gnonto’s efforts helped Roberto Mancini’s side reach the semi-finals alongside Spain, Croatia and the Netherlands.
The striker is yet to debut for the Leeds senior team, but has featured for their Under-21s.
Gnonto 81 minutes in the Premier League 2 clash with Southampton on Friday 16 September.
Jones believes Gnonto will start to make an impact for Leeds as the season progresses and he gets more experience from the substitutes’ bench.
The journalist adds that the Whites summer signing has huge potential and that Jesse Marsch will want to be able to call on him regularly by the end of the season.
Jones told GiveMeSport: “I think this is a player we will see slowly start to make his mark, probably from the bench at first as he builds an understanding of the Premier League.
“But there is huge potential here and I think, by the end of the season, Jesse Marsch will be hoping he’s got a player that he can give more and more game time.”
Marsch and the Elland Road coaching staff will no doubt have enjoyed seeing Gnonto in action this international break, particularly against England.
The teenage prodigy has shown that he already has what it takes to play against – and get the better of – England’s finest.
So perhaps his competitive Leeds debut may not be too far away.
