Sunderland’s double relegation has provided a huge opportunity to Josh Maja and the striker has taken it with both hands. The 19-year-old is the League One top scorer with 9 goals at an average of one every 108 minutes.
The reported earlier this week that Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton are keeping an eye on the striker. However, Maja would be wise to consider the form of Joel Asoro since his move to Swansea City before committing to a move.
Like Maja, Asoro was highly thought of in the Sunderland academy and was given an opportunity last season. He scored three times in the Championship, but he failed to fully break into the team.

During the summer, he left for Swansea City and he hasn’t managed to gain a starting place there either. He may have been better off staying at Sunderland and playing regularly in a lower division.
Although Asoro’s departure gave a chance to Maja, the current League One top scorer needs to be careful not to make a similar mistake.
He is currently the main man at Sunderland and playing a key role in a promotion challenge. At the age of 19, he has a lot of time ahead of him to move up the leagues.
