‘Magnificent’: Thierry Henry admits he would have loved to play alongside £45m Arsenal player

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has now stated that he would love to play alongside striker Gabriel Jesus if he could roll back the years.

And Henry declared that a lot of Jesus‘ attributes are going slightly unnoticed because the striker is not a prolific goalscorer for Arsenal.

However, Henry did think there was still a possibility that Jesus could improve his goalscoring record, too.

: “I will be honest with you. I think like, for example, and it’s a massive example I would have loved to play with him.

“I’m sure if you asked anyone, they would love to play with him. Is he a guy who is going to score 25 or 30? I don’t know. I’d like to think so.

“The pass tonight won the game. And yes I was talking about all around play but those opportunities were magnificent.

“Now we all know he’s not going to be the best goalscorer in history but what he offers and what he does for the team is second to none.

“Every now and then he can finish like he does tonight.”

Henry suggests that Arsenal are lucky to have a striker like Jesus

Of course, Jesus’ performance last night will help silence a bit of negative noise.

Arsenal looked like they lacked a focal point against Chelsea on Saturday and neither Jesus or Eddie Nketiah looked effective in the game.

As a result, talk of a January move for Ivan Toney began to resurface among fans.

However, as Henry will protest, Jesus made a real statement last night with a complete performance for Arsenal – the kind that could propel them to silverware.

And rather than consistency being an issue for Jesus, the striker simply just needs to stay fit.

The Brazilian was seen holding his hamstring as he was substituted last night, a worry for Mikel Arteta.

And looking towards Sheffield United on the weekend, Arteta may now be thinking of giving Takehiro Tomiyasu the nod.

Ian Wright was full of applause for Tomiyasu’s display in Sevilla last night, and would surely be the first to back him for a start.
