‘Magnificent’, ‘relentless’: Reported Rangers target previously praised by Steven Gerrard
Reported Glasgow Rangers target Rhian Brewster was once praised for a “magnificent” display by Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard, who praised his talent and ability.
reported earlier this week that Rangers are eyeing up a loan move for the 20-year-old next season as the Ibrox side looks to regroup for a Scottish Premiership title challenge.
Brewster is widely recognised as one of the best talents currently at the Liverpool academy, and is currently on loan at Swansea City, where he has claimed four goals in 11 Championship games.

The youngster, part of England’s World Cup-winning Under-17s three years ago, will see out the rest of the campaign with the Swans when the English second tier restarts later this month.
Next season, however, he is expected to spend a whole season away from Anfield on loan in order to get first-team experience and, according to the Scottish Sun, the Gers will then make their case.
Brewster played under Gerrard during the Ibrox boss’ stint as a Liverpool youth boss, as well as coach Michael Beale.
“Everyone has seen it all over the world that Rhian is capable of scoring goals,” Gerrard told the in 2017 after Brewster inspired England’s Under-19s to a 4-0 victory over Spain.
“And against Sevilla he was magnificent. We all know he has got the talent and the ability.
“If Rhian wants to go far and stay at the top, if he can put in that work rate and relentless running, that’s how he’s going to get the better of most defenders.”
TBR View:
The former Liverpool captain’s ties to the club have helped secure previous loan deals for Ovie Ejaria, Ryan Kent and Sheyi Ojo, and it wouldn’t be too surprising if he was to strike again.
Brewster is a youngster of the highest calibre, rated highly by Gerrard, and a season spent battling for a title where the margin of error is microscopic amid one of the fiercest rivalries in world football would be a test he is sure to pass.
