‘Made the wrong move’… ESPN pundit says £100m player should have signed for Arsenal not Chelsea
Craig Burley believes that Moises Caicedo made the wrong move joining Chelsea, and instead should have gone to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Moises Caicedo became the most𒐪 expensive player in British football history last year, with reporting that the Blues have paid Brighton £115 million to sign the🍨 Ecuador international.
Unf💧ortunately, thin🎃gs have not worked out for the 22-year-old at Stamford Bridge. And the latest blow came on Tuesday night as Chelsea were beaten by Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium in the first-leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Craig Burley believes Moises Caicedo should have joined Arsenal
Certainly, it is hard to think of any of the big money Chelಌsea signings who have thrived under Mauricio Pochettino or h🌄is predecessors. And with that, Arsenal may perhaps wonder if they have had a lucky escape.

Arsenal were eyeing a move for Caicedo previously. Ultimately, the Gunners ended up breaking their own transfer record on Declan Rice.
And afte🎃r watching his performance against Boro on Tuesday night, Craig Burley has told that Caicedo must be wishing𝄹 that he had moved to the Emirates.
“At Brighton, he looked like a £100 million player. He was a right player at Brighton, he was. Ar♐senal wanted him, Chelsea, Liverpool wanted him. Chelsea got him. He should’ve gone to Liverpool or Arsenal, not Chelsea. That’s a different story. He’s made the wrಞong move at this moment in time, no sign of that changing,” he said.
Chelsea’s lack of progress is very alarming
The worry for Chelsea fans will be that many of their bright talents with huge potential may see their confidence quashed before they have the c🙈hance to play in a team 🅰which is thriving.
It does appear that the Blues have tried to do too much too quickly. And t💧♔hey are paying the price by enduring another miserable season.
They may perhaps still reach 🐽the Carabao Cup final. But there is clearly huge amounts of work to do before they are vindicated for the money which they have spent under their current owners.
Arsenal are not in the best position right now. However, the Gunners are still in such a better place than Chelsea. So some of those who may have perhaps had 𝄹the chance to join Mikel Arteta’s side before they signed for the Blues must be questioning whether they made the right call.
