Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire react as Dan James completes Leeds move

Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire were amongst the players to send messages to Dan James after the winger took to Instagram after completing his move from Manchester United to Leeds.

James was one of the big names to move on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Leeds for the Wales international. It is a big statement from Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

James has shown glimpses of his quality following his move from Swansea. But a look on social media would suggest that many of the Old Trafford faithful feel that it is a good piece of business for them.

Leeds meanwhile, have two of their best players currently out on the wing in Jack Harrison and Raphinha. So it says a lot that the Whites have paid such a sum to get a deal done.

Following the announcement, James took to Instagram to post to comment on his departure, as well as his arrival at Elland Road.

And amongst those to reply were Shaw and Maguire. There was also a message from Diogo Dalot that should encourage Leeds supporters…

James has potential to be inspired addition for Leeds after £25m move

James arrives under a bit of pressure to hit the ground running at Leeds. Of course, his cause is not helped by the club he is joining from.

And the Whites have parted with a lot of money. As previously mentioned, there are no guarantees that he will play regularly with Harrison and Raphinha previously looking to be amongst the first names on the team sheet.

But Leeds fans will take encouragement from the way Bielsa never seems to have lost his interest in the 23-year-old.

If he can realise his potential at Elland Road, he will definitely be worth the £25 million Leeds have paid.
