Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips and Leeds fans react as attacker joins Championship side
Izzy Brown has completed a season-long loan move from Chelsea to Championship side Luton Town after struggling at Leeds United last season – and Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips, and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter.
Brown, 22, managed just two senior games for Leeds after joining the Whites from Chelsea halfway through his recovery on an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He was supposedly set to shine for Leeds after the turn of the year.
But Brown suffered niggles during rehabilitation from the long-term knee injury, and it prevented him from not only returning to full fitness, but being able to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
He managed just two substitute appearances for Leeds during 2018-19, and now he has joined Luton Town on loan until the end of the season. He posted on Twitter after his deadline-day move.
Really pleased to begin this next chapter of my career at Luton, can’t wait to get back doing what I love. See you all soon🧡
— Isaiah Brown (@izzyjaybrown)
Brown, who has two years left on his £25,000-a-week contract (), is now set to join his sixth side on loan. He has also turned out for Vitesse Arnhem, Rotherham, Brighton, Huddersfield, Leeds and now Luton.
Leeds duo Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips both sent good luck messages to the Chelsea attacker, with Ayling urging the versatile attacker to show everyone what he is capable of at Kenilworth Road.
Go do what we know you can do lad. 💙💙💙
— Luke Ayling (@lukeayling_8)
Leeds fans also replied to his Tweet – with the majority wishing him luck, while others feel like he deserved more of a chance at Elland Road, some suggesting in the form of another season in Yorkshire.
