Luke Ayling and Matt Kilgallon send tongue-in-cheek messages to Leeds star

Dan James got up above Burnley defender Matt Lowton to head home a third at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon. The Leeds winger, who is just 5ft 6in in height, has received tongue-in-cheek messages from Luke Ayling, and Dan James.

Leeds came into the game having won only three of their 18 games in the Premier League so far. But against another relegation-threatened side in Burnley, Leeds made it four – dominating the first 45 minutes at Elland Road.

Jack Harrison gave Leeds the lead, lashing home a right-footed effort to score his first goal of the season. But Max Cornet, who Leeds were supposedly linked with signing, scored a delightful free-kick to make it 1-1.

Leeds were still the better side. A deserved winner came when Stuart Dallas curled one into the back of the net from the edge of the area. Late on, James made it three, heading home a Joe Gelhardt cross. He posted on Instagram.

Kilgallon and Ayling react: James hunger gives Leeds boss Bielsa dilemma

With Raphinha and Harrison both fit, Bielsa was left with the dilemma of picking between the three wingers for the two positions out wide. Raphinha is always going to start, and Bielsa chose to start Harrison over James.

Mateusz Klich has been excellent of late, so he started in the 10 role above Raphinha – who played on the right. While Harrison was excellent, James showed his hunger to put his head in where it hurts. A brilliant goal.
