Luis Diaz now sends wordless message to Stefan Bajcetic after scoring his first goal for Liverpool yesterday

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has now sent a wordless message to Stefan Bajcetic on after the youngster bagged his first goal for the club yesterday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side returned to Premier League action yesterday with a convincing 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

The Reds have struggled away from home this season but they’ve now managed back-to-back victories on the road.

Their opener was vintage Liverpool as Trent Alexander-Arnold played a perfectly-weighted ball with the outside of his boot to Andy Robertson. The Scotsman then played the ball across the box to Mohamed Salah for an easy tap-in.

Virgil van Dijk doubled Liverpool’s lead before half-time after Villa had threatened to find an equaliser.

Unai Emery’s men found what turned out to be a consolation goal through Ollie Watkins just before the hour mark. But Bajcetic produced a brilliant finish to put the game out of reach just two minutes after replacing his captain in Jordan Henderson.

Diaz sends message to Bajcetic

Darwin Nunez wasted a glorious chance to wrap the game up for Liverpool as he dragged his effort wide of the post after being through on goal.

But Bajcetic made no mistake when he got his opportunity after Nunez had a cross parried into a dangerous area by Villa shot stopper Robin Olsen.

The 18-year-old produced a delightful chip to take the ball past Olsen before his effort went between Tyrone Mings’ legs and into the back of the net.

The Spaniard expressed his delight at opening his account for Liverpool on Instagram after the game.

He wrote: “The best moment of my life, something I’ve been dreaming of since I started playing football, all the work pays off with moments like this. Thanks for all the messages.”

His teammates flocked beneath the post to congratulate him for scoring his first ever goal for the Reds.

Diaz replied with two round of applause emojis, while Ben Doak said: “That’s my boy!”

Bajcetic will be delighted to have got on the scoresheet in what was only his second appearance in the Premier League. The youngster also impressed during Liverpool’s mid-season fixtures and the media hailed his display against Lyon.

The Spaniard will be hoping to get more opportunities in the coming weeks after he’s only been used as a substitute by Klopp so far this season.

Liverpool have now managed to win three games on the bounce in the Premier League and Klopp will be delighted that his side have picked back up where they left off before the break.
