Everton take on Manchester United in the Premier League later, with Luke Shaw likely to start at left-back for the Red Devils.
In the summer, with Celtic’s Kieran Tierney considered too expensive. However, Shaw had decided he would fight for his first-team spot at Manchester United. With that in mind, Everton reportedly set their sights on Digne.
Shaw has had a resurgent campaign. He earned an England recall and last week signed a new deal to remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.
Everton fans have however been very impressed with the form of their own left-back with the Frenchman in good form on Merseyside. He, like Shaw, earned an international reprieve and will be looking to show Everton they are not missing out on his opposite number.
