Lucas Digne has justified Everton decision to pull plug on Celtic defender Kieran Tierney
Everton completed the £18million () signing of Barcelona defender Lucas Digne in the summer and he’s made a brilliant start to life at Goodison Park.
The 25-year-old left-back has already managed to dislodge club veteran Leighton Baines from the starting XI and looks extremely comfortable in the Premier League.
Marco Silva’s side were planning to bring in a new full-back during the summer transfer window and were targeting Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.
, Everton pulled the plug on a deal for left-back Tierney due to concerns over his £25million price tag.
The 21-year-old is an extremely talented youngster that is a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic and it would be no surprise to see him end up in the Premier League.

But Everton may have a much greater deal on their hands with Digne and he must have made the club quickly forget about their interest in Tierney.
Digne is a full-back with exceptional pace that has already proved he can bomb forward in Silva’s team, but also has defensive qualities in one-on-one scenarios.
The Frenchman’s form has seen him break back into the international picture too for the World Cup winners and he will only go from strength to strength this season if he stays fit.
