‘Lovely play’, ‘baller’: Some Spurs fans love what Troy Parrott did for Millwall in FA Cup third round

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to praise Troy Parrott for his role in the build-up to one of Millwall’s goals in their FA Cup third-round victory on Saturday.

The 18-year-old, one of the Tottenham academy’s brightest graduates in recent years, swapped Spurs for Southeast London in the summer, linking up with the Lions on a season-long deal.

Sadly, the first half of Parrott’s season was impacted by injury, the Irishman playing just minutes of competitive action between his August arrival and his return to fitness in late November.

Since then, the Spurs talent has made nine Championship appearances – five starts, four off the bench – and was in the starting XI for the 2-0 win at Boreham Wood in the cup.

On the half-hour mark, Parrott split the hosts’s defence open with a neat flick for Scott Malone, who then bore down on goal and laid the ball off for Kenneth Zohore to sweep home.

The Tottenham gem also had a couple of chances to extend his side’s lead before Shaun Hutchinson headed home from a corner for the clincher.
