‘Love it’… Roy Keane couldn’t believe what ‘brilliant’ Manchester United player did against West Ham

In what proved to be an excellent win for Manchester United against West Ham United, Roy Keane was so impressed with one player.

Erik ten Hag’s side didn’t necessarily start the game with authority, something quite typical of United at Old Trafford these days.

However, excellent work by Rasmus Hojlund in the first half put ten Hag’s outfit ahead at the break.

Roy Keane was in the studio for the game, and was pleased with a few moments he saw in the first half.

It certainly hasn’t always been easy being a Man United fan this year, but Keane saw a real reason for hope against West Ham.

Along with the promise of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, Hojlund now looks ready to lead United’s line for the coming years.

And when discussing Hojlund’s goal at half-time, Roy Keane was actually surprised at the way in which Hojlund scored his goal.

The Dane is known for his excellent ball-striking on his left foot, but seldom cuts in on his right.

Roy Keane really impressed with Rasmus Hojlund’s United display against West Ham

Speaking about the shift onto his right-foot, Keane was very happy to see Hojlund playing with so much confidence.

Keane said: “This is really good, this is what the games about, do you know what? Love it.

“You think he’s going to, he goes onto his weaker side…”

Presenter David Jones interrupted: “Which we haven’t seen too much from him before.”

Keane: “No not really, but again, I don’t mind that from a striker when he just produces moments because that’s what the game is about.

“You know, West Ham have been very much in the game but that’s what you want from your top strikers, that moment of quality and the power of the shot.

“He’s obviously got a lot of confidence, he’s on a good run, brilliant goal.”

Of course, many United fans will agree with Keane’s summary, they will have been delighted to see another strong display against West Ham.

Hojlund was excellent at Wolves, and he’s clearly so determined to finish his debut season strongly.

That being said, Gary Neville was highlighting one United weakness before the game.
