‘Love it bro’: Arsenal teammates respond as Gabriel Martinelli makes comeback

Arsenal under-21s took on AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy last night and were comfortably beaten 3-0 in a game in which they had two players sent off.

But it is not all doom and gloom as Arsenal also welcomed back a player from injury.

Gabriel Martinelli played the first half of the game in his first competitive action since suffering a serious knee injury back in June. Considering when that injury occurred nobody expected Martinelli to be back before 2021 it is quite an impressive recovery.

Indeed, the Brazilian was in a thankful mood after the game. The 19-year-old took to his social media pages to thank the medical staff at Arsenal and the fans for their support throughout his injury lay-off.

His comments on Instagram received responses from several Arsenal team-mates including Alexandre Lacazette, Pablo Mari, and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Callum Chambers, who he spent much of his rehab time with, commented stating, “Love it bro’.

Plenty of Arsenal fans have been excited over a return to action for Martinelli as the club struggled to find form this season.

The unpredictable Brazilian might be exactly what Arsenal need to add some spark in their attack and to start climbing up from their lowly 15th position in the Premier League.

But Martinelli came off at half-time last night looking visibly shattered from the experience. So Arsenal fans might have to wait a little while longer before Martinelli is in first-team action again.
