‘Lot of space for improvement’: Conte says Spurs have a very fast player but needs to concentrate more
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte says Davinson Sanchez has “the right characteristics to become a top defender”.
However, the Spurs manager has claimed the Colombia international still has a “lot of space for improvement”.
Sanchez has progressed rapidly at Tottenham since Conte took the reins at Spurs.

The 25-year-old struggled at times prior to the Italian’s arrival at N17.
Sanchez could certainly deliver some outstanding displays but there were also some poor performances too.
His display against Mura was particularly disappointing, and you feared for his future at Spurs after that.
Indeed, Sanchez was linked with a move away ahead of the January transfer window.
However, the centre-back has since become a stalwart of the Tottenham side under Conte.
Sanchez has featured in all bar one of Conte’s Premier League games in charge of Tottenham.
And he has been a regular fixture in the other competitions.
“He really likes Sanchez. If you’re not aware of this, Conte really likes him,” .
“He keeps talking about how much he’s improved since he’s been there.
“So anyone that’s hoping for a Davinson Sanchez exit very soon, it’s probably not going to happen right now.”
Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League meeting with Southampton, Conte gave an honest assessment of Sanchez.
quotes the Spurs boss as saying: “He has a lot of space for improvement.
“He’s good physically, he’s fast, he’s good technically.
“He has the right characteristics to become a top defender but he needs to be focused from start to end.
“This is the gap to him becoming a top defender.”
