Report: Tottenham set sights on 54-year-old who’s enjoyed a ‘rebirth’; finished top-four in big-five league last year
Tottenham have their sights on Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui, according to .
The publication is claiming that the Spaniard isn’t top of the Lilywhites’ managerial list.
However, the La Liga outfit are not afraid of losing the former Real Madrid coach in the same manner they lost Juande Ramos.
Ramos was manager of Sevilla from between 2005 and 2007, enjoying a hugely successful spell with the club.
However, after Tottenham sacked Martin Jol in October 2007, they came calling for the 66-year-old.
The current situation is different to what occurred almost 14 years ago with Ramos.
Tottenham are looking for a new man in charge after Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

TBR View: Lopetegui has all the keys to succed as Tottenham manager
When Lopetegui was sacked as the Real Madrid manager, it would’ve been easy to write him off.
However, he’s managed to revive his career with a ‘‘ at Sevilla.
His success in the 2020 Europa League final, against Antonio Conte’s Internazionale side, is a sign of credentials.
Prior to the 54-year-old’s appointment, Sevilla were struggling to qualify for the Champions League through La Liga.
That’s all changed now with the Andalusian outfit having finished fourth in consecutive seasons under the coach.
He proves an attacking coach and has already managed one Spurs player. Sergio Reguilon was part of the Sevilla side which won the Europa League last year.
The Spain international was a key outlet for the Spanish side at left-back. An appointment of Lopetegui could well revive the fortunes of the 24-year-old.
Spurs have been linked with a raft of targets over the last few few weeks. However, few have the recent credentials as the former Spain man.
Appointing Lopetegui as manager would be a masterstroke from Tottenham following his career revival in recent years.
