‘Look at the career he’s having’: Charlie Allen says Leeds have a truly ‘brilliant’ player in their ranks
Leeds United academy midfielder Charlie Allen has praised Whites teammate Stuart Dallas for having helped him following his arrival at Elland Road.
Allen joined the Leeds Academy from Irish League champions Linfield for an undisclosed fee in August.
The 17-year-old has impressed at Under-18s level, prompting Leeds to offer him a professional contract late last year, as well as giving him game time in the Under-23s.
Allen says Dallas has been really helpful, checking up on him often, and also praised his fellow Northern Irishman for how “brilliant” he is as a footballer.

“Stuart looks after me around the club,” Allen told , via the Belfast Telegraph.
“I speak to him almost every day and if I need anything he will help me out and he shows me where stuff is. In training he will always check that I know what I’m doing. He really helps me and it is good to have him there.
“He’s also a brilliant footballer. Look at the career he’s having. He came from the Irish League and worked his way up to the Premier League with a massive club like Leeds, showing that players from Northern Ireland can do it.”
Allen has been at a training camp for Northern Ireland’s Under-19s this week, while Dallas is currently with Ian Baraclough’s senior side.
TBR View:
Allen has been superb for Leeds since joining last year and it’s great to hear how Dallas has become a friend and mentor, helping him acclimatise to his new surroundings and develop as a player.
As one of the brightest talents to come out of Irish League football in recent years, it would be great to see Allen break into the first team in the coming years.
