Local report suggests Napoli transfer stance, Everton must pay £65m for Allan

Everton have recently been strongly linked with a move for Napoli midfielder Allan. The Brazilian is a huge favourite of Goodison Park boss Carlo Ancelotti, who managed him at the Stadio San Paolo.

suggested that Allan’s transfer fee could now be in the region of £35 million, with the caveat that this discount would be contingent on signing Mexican forward Hirving Lozano.

But it still represented a huge discount on the £80 million the Italian side once rejected from Paris Saint-Germain for the player.

However, Everton fans should not get too excited. has now highlighted the transfer stance Napoli have decided on for the summer.

Instead of selling players on the cheap, Napoli will do the opposite. Bullish club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is set to stand by his initial estimates for players like Allan and Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been linked with a move away in recent weeks. He is willing to hold on to his valuable assets until the market picks up again, when he can receive a higher transfer fee.

That figure, in the case of the Brazilian midfielder, stands at €75 million (£65m).

The report even claims that all Napoli’s big-name players, including fellow reported Everton targets Fabian Ruiz and Arkadiusz Milik, have been informed they are not for sale and are said to have accepted that fact.

in Naples and when it comes to stories regarding the Serie A club, there are fewer more reputable sources. So it is safe to say this report is likely accurate.

That surely means Everton can forget about Allan in the next window.

Spending such a vast sum of money on a player who will turn 30 next January would make no sense, especially given director of football Marcel Brands’ track record.

As much as Ancelotti might be a fan of the nine-cap Selecao star, Everton will surely not be meeting such a high asking price in the current climate.
