Nottingham Forest defender when playing for the club – hours after he was linked with a Newcastle United switch.
On Sunday morning, that Newcastle were keen on signing Worrall. The Magpies want to shore up their defence and the 22-year-old has proven his worth in the Championship.

Having poached Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles from Forest in the past, Newcastle explored this option again. But Forest – who are flying high in the Championship – want to keep their homegrown starlet.
Nottingham Forest have been handed a major boost in their hopes of keeping Worrall at The City Ground. The 6ft 4in centre-half took to Twitter after this report emerged and he shared an emotional message about what it means to be a Red.

You can’t help but feel this is a direct response to the Sun’s report. Worrall has played every minute in the Championship this season and his passionate performances have lifted Forest into promotion contention.
Next season, Worrall will hope to represent his local club in the Premier League. It has been a remarkable turnaround for the England U21 starlet – who was lambasted by Rangers fans last season.
