‘Livid’: Some West Ham fans react to ‘pathetic’ club announcement about £67k-a-week man

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club that Pablo Fornals had taken Felipe Anderson’s No.8 shirt.

What’s the story?

Well, after the Brazilian rejoined Lazio, his No.8 shirt was vacant.

Just days after Anderson’s exit, Fornals has wasted no time at all in snapping up the shirt.

move to the London Stadium.

Fornals has also worn No.8 while playing for Spain’s Under-21 side.

Clearly, it’s a number he likes, and desperately wanted to wear in east London as well – now, the man has his wish.

As you can see below, the West Ham fans aren’t happy.

They’re not particularly annoyed by the number change in itself.

It seems they’re more frustrated at the fact West Ham have made a big song and dance out of it, in the form of an announcement video.

As one fan below tweeted, other clubs have been making announcement videos to reveal signings, not new shirt numbers.

With plenty of time in the window already gone, David Moyes is yet to make an addition to the first-team.

Seeing as the Irons have Europa League football added to their fixture list next season, it’s a bit worrying that they haven’t signed anyone yet.
