Report: Monaco preparing bumper deal for Liverpool outcast Xherdan Shaqiri

Monaco have emerged as potential admirers for Liverpool outcast Xherdan Shaqiri and could try and tempt the forward to France.

The news has come from and they state that the Switzerland international would be in line for a huge pay increase to £104,000-a-week.

The 27-year-old wasn’t massively in favour under the German boss last season. He scored six goals and registered five assists, playing in just 30 games for the club.

that despite flattering to deceive last season, Liverpool will look to recoup around £33 million should they allow Shaqiri to leave.

The man with 80 caps and 22 goals for Switzerland played for 11 minutes of Sunday’s Community Shield defeat against Manchester City.

TBR Verdict

Another departure from Liverpool wouldn’t overly excite the club’s supporters who have been disgruntled with the lack of incoming activity at Anfield this summer.

Harry Wilson departed for a loan spell at Bournemouth this week and Shaqiri departing would further decrease the strength in depth.

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t look like adding to his ranks before the end of the transfer window and keeping the 27-year-old might be a wiser decision.

With Monaco offering an eye-watering wage, however, Shaqiri may be keen to move on.

He didn’t play much at all last season and he will probably look to receive some guarantees of first-team football should he choose to stick around at Liverpool.
