Liverpool won’t be signing £43m player this summer, it’s been ‘ruled out’
Liverpool’s transfer window hasn’t quite got going yet.
Indeed, even though we’re in the middle of July, the Reds are yet to make a signing, and while there have been a number of links to potential targets, most rumours seem to get shot down very quickly.
, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Liverpool’s search for a new centre-back, and while he says that Willian Pacho is a player to keep an eye on, he also claims that you can rule out the idea of Piero Hincapie signing for Liverpool.

Piero Hincapie isn’t joining Liverpool
Jacobs shared what he knows about Liverpool and the £43m defender.
“Willian Pacho is the other one but Piero Hincapie can be ruled out. We constantly hear links about Liverpool and Hincapie, but I’m told they’re not in for his signature,” Jacobs said.
Bayer Leverkusen won’t be selling
Even if Liverpool were still in the market for Hincapie, it’s hard to see Bayer Leverkusen letting the player go.
Indeed, with Jonathan Tah seemingly on his way to Bayern Munich, Xabi Alonso’s side need to keep hold of their other star defenders.
Hincapie is one of Leverkusen’s most important defensive players, and if he and Tah were to leave in the same transfer window, the German giants could be decimated.
Liverpool now aren’t in for the South American, but don’t be shocked if Leverkusen’s resolve is tested by another top European club as Hincapie is in high demand after a brilliant season in the Bundesliga.
Where Liverpool turn to next remains to be seen, but the fact remains that the Reds do still need to sign a new centre-back in this transfer window to cover for the departure of Joel Matip.
Liverpool need to get to work quickly, because the new season is edging ever closer.
