Liverpool want £34m forward with more goals than Mane this season – report

Liverpool currently boast arguably the strongest and most in-depth front line in world football.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp can currently call on Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz.

But according to a report in , Liverpool are now eyeing another “incredible” forward.

The outlet claims the Reds are one of several Premier League teams who want Ajax and Brazil star Antony.

Liverpool have reportedly been watching the 21-year-old since his time at Sao Paulo.

The Anfield scouts have apparently ‘hugely impressed’ by how he has settled in Europe and his subsequent progress.

As well as Liverpool, the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly eyeing Antony.

It is believed that player’s representatives have indicated Antony’s desire is to play in the Premier League.

A left-footed winger, Antony likes to operate off the right and cut in to devastating effect.

He has 11 goals – one more than Sadio Mane has for his club this term – and eight assists from 25 Ajax appearances in .

Antony has also impressed in the Champions League, with two goals and four assists in the competition this term.

Speaking in December, Ajax boss Erik ten Hag admitted it would be hard to keep the attacking ace beyond this season.

“From a sporting point of view, it is clear that he is an incredible talent,” Ten Hag told Good Morning Oranje, via 90Min.

“He is going through an incredibly beautiful development.

“Especially if we perform in the Champions League, then it is clear that he will come into the spotlight and be interesting for a lot of clubs.”

In September last year, claimed Ajax valued Antony at around £34million.
