Liverpool transfer news: The two reasons Reds reportedly can’t sign Florian Neuhaus?

Liverpool allegedly won’t be able to sign midfield target Florian Neuhaus, who Jurgen Klopp ‘definitely wants’, for two reasons.

What’s the story?

According to , there is no space in the Reds squad for the Germany international.

Liverpool are said to be in the process of clearing out their squad to make space for potential incomings.

Despite Gini Wijnaldum’s exit, there are still seven central midfielders competing for three starting places.

The likes of Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are linked with exits. However, it is now thought the Guinea international will remain at Anfield

The second reason is that the Merseysiders don’t have enough money to complete a move. A transfer for the Borussia Mönchengladbach ace will cost Liverpool in the region of €40m (£34m).

Reports have said Liverpool before they can do further business this summer.

Liverpool can sign Neuhaus if they move quickly

While the club does have a raft of options in the centre of the pitch, very few of them make a telling impact on proceedings.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered injury-hell since his arrival from Arsenal. Meanwhile, a mixture of fitness issues and inconsistency means Keita has also proved fairly redundant.

Thiago Alcantra has struggled following his move from Bayern Munich. While, at 34, James Milner is nearing the end of his career.

It makes a move for the 24-year-old German all the more important. Klopp needs more influential players at the heart of his team.

His arrival would go a long way to replacing Wijnaldum’s attacking intent. The ace scored six goals and assisted five in 30 starts in the Bundesliga last term.

Liverpool can sign Neuhaus, however, they need to move quickly in terms of making space and money.
