Liverpool tracking Fabio Vieira as youngster continues to excel

Liverpool are tracking Porto’s Fabio Vieira.

The 21-year-old is a target for the Reds and they got to see him up close on Tuesday evening.

The youngster was named as the player of the tournament in the U21 Euros and Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on him ().

On Tuesday evening, the Porto man cameoed off the bench against Liverpool and he stood up to be counted.

Vieira came off the bench against Liverpool after just 14 minutes as Otavio picked up an injury.

In his time on the pitch, the youngster put in a solid display against the Merseyside club.

He made two key passes, created a chance and registered an assist for Porto ().

The 21-year-old was one of very few good performers against Liverpool, as his side fell to a 5-1 defeat.

It hasn’t put the Reds off, though.

Fabio Vieira quite clearly has a massive future as one of the next stars coming out of the Portuguese talent pool.

Jurgen Klopp has already added some Portuguese flair to his side in the form of Diogo Jota, who has shone at Anfield.

If Klopp is to add to his midfield then Vieira would be a wonderful addition.

The youngster can play anywhere across central midfield or in wide attacking areas.

At his age he can still be moulded into whatever he wants to be and under Klopp he could become fantastic.

Klopp’s midfield lost Georginio Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri over the summer, limting their depth in midfield and attack.

Should they move for the Porto man, then he would certainly be able to bolster their options.

The fans will certainly learn more about Fabio Vieira in the return leg in the Champions League.

Porto travel to Anfield for the return group game in November.

That will give the fans another chance to take note of him ahead of a potential transfer.
