Liverpool told they have a young talent coming through who is ‘really exciting’
Liverpool players have been making their mark during this international break.
Curtis Jones has earned plaudits as he scored his first goal for England, while Ibrahima Konate has performed well for France.
However, perhaps one of the biggest breakout stars during this international break has been Ben Doak.
Doak has been hailed by the Scottish press for his recent showings, and speaking on The Game Football Podcast, Gregor Robertson has been full of praise for the attacker.
The pundit had nothing but good things to say about Doak as he reviewed the winger’s recent performances.
Robertson says he’s very excited by Doak’s potential, claiming that he doesn’t even know what foot Doak prefers to use.

Ben Doak is an exciting talent
The pundit spoke incredibly highly of Doak after his recent showings.
Robertson said that Doak has enormous potential, and he could be headed to the top.
“This guy (Doak) is raw pace,’ Robertson said.
“He’s also really technically gifted. He’s thrown the step over at Gvardiol. As I was saying, you’re not entirely sure what footed he is.
“He’s touching the ball, although he’s playing on the right, he’s coming at him, a little cushion forward, touches with his left foot. He can go either way and then, my God, he just gave him, he tortured him. It’s great to watch.
“It’s really exciting. I know the part of this conversation is couched in, like, should we be getting too excited? We don’t have many people to get excited about.
“Whatever happens from now, there’s a question mark about Salah playing on the right, whether it’s going to be a very hard task to get in Liverpool’s team going forward.
“But he’s kind of arrived in senior football now and he’ll always have options. And you look at someone like Billy Gilmore who, when he left Chelsea, you think that was a step down and he started to establish himself at Brighton. Now he’s at Napoli.
“I think he’s a player of enormous potential.”
What is Liverpool’s plan with Ben Doak?
Doak is earning rave reviews at the moment, and at the age of 19, it may not be long before he’s wanting to play first-team football for Liverpool.
So, what is Liverpool’s plan with this young man?
Doak is currently on loan at Middlesbrough, and while he’s doing brilliantly, Liverpool don’t want to disrupt that progress.
Indeed, Liverpool have no plans to recall Doak from his current loan spell.
However, that isn’t to say that he doesn’t have a future at Anfield.
Liverpool view Doak as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, but they believe he has to improve his finishing if he is to fulfil that role.
Doak’s stats for Middlesbrough this season show that he does need to improve his end product.

However, at the age of just 19, Doak has tons of room to grow and improve, so he could yet still have a bright future at Anfield.
