Liverpool told they have a ‘special’ talent in their ranks who’s like Lionel Messi
Liverpool suffered a setback on Wednesday night as they dropped points in a 3-3 draw away at Newcastle United.
The Reds fell behind to Alexander Isak’s 35th-🧔minute strike from distance, but Curtis Jones equalised early in the second half.
Newcastle then went in front through Anthony Gordon’s 62nd-minute effort, but Mohamed Salah struck twice to put Liverpool on the brink of victory.
However, Magpies defender Fabian Schar slid in from 🍬a tight angle on 90 minutes after Caoimhin Kelleher misjudged the trajectory of a free kick.
Despite the disappointing result for Liverpool, there were some positives, not least the performance of a player who has now been likened to Lionel Messi.

Pat Nevin likens Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to Lionel Messi
The player in question is Mohamed Salah, who rose to the occasion once a💦gain for Liverpool and nearly d﷽ragged them over the line on Tyneside.
Salah equalised on 68 minutes with a finish from eight yards before putting Liverpool ahead in the 83rd minute wi🦹th a fierce strike into the far corner of Newcastle’s net.
BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin was blown away by the Reds talisman’s second goal and said it reminded him of the Argentina legen꧃d.
“Mohamed Salah is a magician,” Nevin said on . “He waits and wa🌞its until the space opens u♋p. Then he comes alive.
“It’s almost like Lionel Messi. I have watched Messi doing it again and again over the years. Salah knows the gaps and he waits until the gap opens up and then hamme🔯rs it.
“He only need⛎s a few inches either way. He is special.”
Salah contract latest
Journalist Simon Hughes believes that Salah is now open to the idea of signing a one-year extension 🌼at Liverpool.
“He’s not sཧaying, I want to play till I’m 39 or anything,” Hughes told the Walk On podcast. “He’s saying, just give me aওnother year. I want to stay at Anfield.”
Meanwhile, The Athletic’s David Ornstein 🧜expects Salah to be offered a new deal soon, as he told Sky Sports earlier this week.
Salah’s situation has been up in the ai🌟r for a w🍎hile, but it seems as though things could come to a head soon, suggested Ornstein.
“Well, so an offer has gone to him (Van Dijk), which hasn’t happened so far﷽ with Mohamed Salah,” said the journalist.
“I would expect, I do expect Salah to receive an offer very soon. Why he hasn’t so far and Van Dijk has is something that m♎aybe only Liverpool can explain.”
