Liverpool think they have signed a ‘super talent’ for the future this summer
Liverpool were one of the quietest Premier League teams in the summer transfer window with just two first-team signings.
Arne Slot’s first additions for the Reds included Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, the former of which was loaned back to the La Liga side for the season with Alisson Becker still the no. 1 at Liverpool.
With Chiesa working with Liverpool’s coaches over the international break to gain fitness, the Anfield side did little to improve their first-team squad over the summer, though early results in the Premier League seem to show that this might have been the right decision.
Yet Fabrizio Romano has now said Liverpool think they’ve managed to pull off one big signing for the future.

Liverpool excited by ‘top’ Rio Ngumoha signing
The Italian transfer journalist posted on Twitter that Liverpool are ‘convinved’ that they’ve secured a big signing for the future in Rio Ngumoha, who joined the Reds this summer after leaving Chelsea’s academy.
Romano posted: “Liverpool are convinced they have signed a top, super talent for the future with Rio Ngumoha. Impressive proposal was made to reach the agreement after Rio left Chelsea academy. Liverpool see Rio as big talent for present and future, part of first team long term project.”
An England youth international with a massive reputation already, the 16-year-old attacker this week officially joined Liverpool after the move was finally approved by the Premier League, with Ngumoha joining up with the Reds’ U-18s.
Yet given how open Slot is to promoting academy players and breakthroughs in the last 12 months for Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley and now Trey Nyoni, it might not be long before Ngumoha is given his chance to shine for Liverpool’s senior team.

Slot could usher in a new generation of Liverpool youngsters this season
Liverpool have a proud tradition of bringing through academy players, with Jurgen Klopp bringing through Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones and giving debuts to the likes of Quansah, Bradley and Stefan Bajcetic.
And with Slot now in charge, the Dutch coach could usher in a new generation of Liverpool youngsters, with the current crop of prospects some of the most exciting in the entire Premier League.
Indeed, Liverpool’s future could be set up for them if they can nail the development of certain youngsters, and Slot will be keen to bring in a number of academy players into the first-team this season.
