Liverpool teenager confirms injury blow on Instagram, Brewster and others respond
Paul Glatzel has confirmed on Instagram that he is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines once again, after picking up an ankle ligament injury which – prompting reaction from Rhian Brewster.
Glatzel, 19, only returned from an anterior cruciate ligament problem in April – and having netted 21 goals in 27 games for the Under-18 side and that has since seen the teenager break into the Under-23 side on occasion.
Having recovered from the injury in April, Glatzel scored against West Ham’s Under-23 side in Premier League 2 this season and captained the second string in an EFL Trophy defeat to Port Vale. However, Glatzel will be on watching from the sidelines.
Glatzel has posted on Instagram, sending a message to Liverpool supporters on the social media platform to confirm that he will be undergoing rehabilitation once again – just a matter of months after overcoming his previous knee injury.
The Liverpool-born two-time Germany Under-18 international still has time on his side, with confirming in September 2019 that he had signed a long-term contract with the Premier League champions.
Rhian Brewster led the responses, urging Glatzel to come back stronger. Bobby Duncan and Harvey Elliott also sent messages to Glatzel following his Instagram update.
