Liverpool star Konate shares what really ‘surprised’ him about Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate spoke to the this week about Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The young defender has settled in really well at Liverpool since his big-money move from RB Leipzig in the summer. He has only played six times for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far, but he has been almost flawless in each of those games.
Konate started for the Reds against Manchester United back in October. Klopp’s men absolutely battered the Red Devils, who were terrible despite having one of the greatest players of all time in Ronaldo starting up front.
Asked about his experience of facing the Portuguese superstar, Konate said he was surprised.
Ibrahima Konate comments on facing Cristiano Ronaldo
The 22-year-old said: “Yes, It’s the first time (I’ve faced him).
“I was surprised because he’s one of the best players in the world, but he’s only human like me. He has two arms and two legs.
“I had to be focused on my game with the team and it was good, it was ok.”

Konate will be a big player for Liverpool
Liverpool undoubtedly have the best defender in the world in Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman has been one of the biggest reasons why the Reds have been so good over the last three years, but he’s 30 already.
Van Dijk will still be around for a few years, but it’s always wise to plan ahead. Konate, who is still only 22, has the potential to take over from the Dutchman when he moves on. The ex-Leipzig man is already really good, but he will only get better in the coming months and years.
Liverpool face Wolves later today and it will be interesting to see if Klopp will hand starts to both Konate and van Dijk. The former was on the bench against Everton a few days ago and he would be really fresh. He’d be raring to go, but whether he’ll get the nod is anyone’s guess at this moment.
