Liverpool star branded ‘insurmountable’ by country’s media, best player for his country this week

Liverpool star Fabinho has been handed enormous praise by for his performance in Brazil’s 0-0 draw with Argentina on Tuesday night.

In what was a controversial display, the two Copa America finalists did battle once again – after the previous outing had been suspended.

Of course, Argentina won the Copa America 1-0 in the summer – and it was Argentina who were the winners on Tuesday night, too.

Brazil had already qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Argentina needed a point to reach next year’s tournament. They got just that.

But it was not without controversy. Indeed, many are in disbelief at how Nicolas Otamendi escaped a red card for an elbow on Leeds star Raphinha.

However, on Liverpool ace Fabinho for his display. They describe him as Brazil’s best player on the night, 7/10.

“The best Brazilian, practically insurmountable. Seven tackles, won nine duels on the ground; still had quality to find passes, even when pressured.”

Fabinho shines for Brazil: Liverpool fans will be hoping for momentum

The 28-year-old has been in and out of the Liverpool side this season, with injury. He missed the wins over Watford and Manchester United.

The £180,000-a-week () star was also missing from the 2-2 draw with Brighton, only returning just before the break in the 3-2 loss to West Ham.

With an in-form Arsenal next, Liverpool fans will be hoping Fabinho’s display for Brazil will be the start of some much-needed momentum.
