According to reports, Liverpool are ready to open contract talks with Fabinho.

that the Reds see the Brazilian enforcer as an ‘untouchable’ player now within the squad, and wish to reward him with an improved deal.

The South American has been a revelation on Merseyside since signing from AS Monaco in the summer of 2018.

He took a few months to settle in, but has gone on to become one of Liverpool’s most important players.

At the moment, Fabinho is filling in at centre-half with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both long-term injury absences, and he has barely put a foot wrong alongside Joel Matip.

To lose a player of van Dijk’s quality would, in theory, sting any team in the world, but Fabinho’s brilliance has meant the Reds have hardly felt the Duthcman’s absence so far.

Supposedly the plan is to get Fabinho to commit his future to Liverpool, and simply put, there might not be a more important deal for the club to do in recent memory.

But Fabinho is showing right now just how crucial he is for the Reds.

In the absence of van Dijk he’s been imperious at the back, playing like a natural centre-half beside Matip.

The star is incredibly intelligent to be able to shine in multiple positions, and he’s also largely always available for Jurgen Klopp which is invaluable.

He’s at the very top of his game right now and any side in the world would be lucky to have him, so getting him signed up to a big contract is paramount for the club.
