Liverpool signing Isco would be a concern for Naby Keita

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

Jurgen Klopp is planning a raid on the Reds’ 2018 Champions League final opponents and sees Isco as a means of boosting the creativity of his midfield.

The Premier League leaders are in incredible form right now and there are few, if any, weak areas of the team.

But perhaps attacking midfield is the one position that could be improved, with the current crop of midfielders more known for their ‘workhorse’ styles.

Technician Isco is known for having impressive vision, and could give Liverpool and Klopp a different option.

Isco has 18 months remaining on his contract and so there may well be an opportunity this summer for Liverpool to try and negotiate.

That said, El Desmarque add that Florentino Perez would not want to sell for any less than 70 million/£59 million.

Isco to Anfield would certainly be a headline-grabbing transfer, but one man who it arguably wouldn’t do any good, is Naby Keita.

TBR’s view – Isco signing could see Keita suffer

Unfortunately, Keita is still struggling to impose himself at Anfield.

He looks superb in bursts, but he just hasn’t been able to make himself a regular in the starting XI.

Injuries haven’t helped his cause, but many had expected the £120,000-a-week Keita () to have kicked on by now following his £52.75 million move in 2018 ().

He is seen as a man with the potential to bring that creativity, but if Klopp went out and signed Isco, then regular minutes would be even harder to come by.
