Liverpool Round-Up: Sakho given Anfield lifeline; talks with top goalkeeper; huge UEFA earnings

Despite making a loan move to Crystal Palace on deadline day for a £2 million fee, Jurgen Klopp refused to rule out a potential comeback at Anfield for central defender Mamadou Sakho. Klopp said:

“This isn’t the moment for me to give advice to Mamadou Sakho. If I give him advice, I’ll do it personally and not on the TV. Who knows what happens in half a year? We’ve already felt what changed in the space of a month. I think he should concentrate on the job at Crystal Palace, we’ll concentrate on the job we’re doing here. In this moment he’s on loan and still has a contract at Liverpool. The loan is a solution for this moment. We can wait for new impressions and see what happens.”

The former PSG defender was isolated in the first half of the season after a falling out with the manager regarding his behaviour on the club’s tour of America when he missed or was late to several meetings.

The  and  are reporting on claims in Italian newspaper Tuttosport that suggest that Joe Hart held secret talks with Liverpool representatives during the January transfer window. Currently, on loan at Torino from Manchester City, the England number one would be available in the summer with Jurgen Klopp seemingly unconvinced by both of his first team goalkeepers.

Hart’s future in Manchester under Pep Guardiola seems to be over but with Loris Karius having lost his place and Simon Mignolet making errors such as that which allowed David Luiz to put Chelsea ahead in midweek, a move to Anfield may not be unrealistic in the summer.

The  earned an impressive €3.395 million from UEFA for the participation of their players at Euro 2016, second only to Juventus. The Reds had 12 representatives in France, including five England internationals, but also earned money for their players appearing in qualifying for the competition.

The news will be a welcome financial boost for the club and will also help to boost their reputation internationally with a number of players representing their countries internationally.
